The Climate Walk (hereinafter: Us, We, Our) is a multi-leveled research, education and media-art project by the Wanderers of Changing Worlds/the Austrian association ‘Europäische Klinawanderung’. You can find more information about the association in the imprint (German). If not stated otherwise, this privacy policy applies to the following of our websites and services:
When you leave comments on the main website we collect the data shown in the comments form (name, email address, website and the comment itself). We also collect your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
When you contact us via one of the contact forms provided on the main website we collect the data shown in the contact form (name, email, subject and the message itself).
If you leave a comment on our main website you may opt-in to save your name, email address and website in the cookies. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page on the main website, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in to our main website, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you visit a shortened URL via our self-hosted link shortener service (e.g. sprint.climatewalk.eu/projectoverview) no personal data will be gathered and stored. We do only count the number of times a URL is clicked. This service is based on the open source software “Yourls” (www.yourls.org). We have adapted this application in such a way that it does not track the IP address of the visitors and in consequence not its location.
We use the project management software ClickUp to organize our project. This includes the management of our contacts, all project partners as well as the registration for events and the volunteer applications.
All data that we collect on ClickUp (type of data depends on the form it is entered) is stored under the privacy policies of ClickUp: https://clickup.com/privacy
Pages and posts on the main website may include embedded content (e.g. from OpenStreetMap, Google, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook or Instagram). If you don’t want to see this content you can block the embedded sources (except for OpenStreetMap, Google Fonts and Maps). Please note that you can only block all content from a particular external website or none. For more details see the cookie consent settings on the bottom of this page.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
If you send us a message through a contact form on this website the data is retained indefinitely in our mailbox.
If you have registered yourself for our newsletter your email address, first name and the selected focus countries are stored indefinitely. As soon as you deregister from it again, this data will be deleted after 30 days.
If you have registered yourself for one of our events or if you have sent us an application as a volunteer the collected data is retained indefinitely in our ClickUp workspace.
If you have left comments on the main website, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you in our website’s CRM. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you have registered yourself for one of our newsletters you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you in our newsletter system.
If you have registered yourself for one of our events or if you have sent us an application as a volunteer you can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you in our ClickUp workspace. In this case the participation at events or as a volunteer for the project are not possible anymore.
Visitor comments on our main website are checked through the automated spam detection service “Antispam Bee”.
The publicaly available data of potential project partners and the data of actual project partners, as well as the data for event registrations and volunteer applications are sent to, stored and processed in our ClickUp workspace.
